12th Production Sale Report May 2018

The 12th Amathole Nguni Breeders Production Sale took place on 26 May 2018 at Cavalo stables.

On offer were quality registered as well as commercial Nguni cattle.

Although there were a few less animals on offer, it boasted a record attendance and it was an extremely successful sale.

Below is a summary of the prices fetched on the day.

Registered section results:
3 in 1 cows fetched an average price of R13850 and top price of R15800  (Lot 11 sold by University of Fort Hare and bought by Lwazcon cc)
Pregnant cows averaged R11,200 and top price of R13,600 (Lot  32 Sold by Xhacha Ngunis and bought by Mr M Penny)
Cows with calves fetched R13,562 and top price animal on the sale, was R19,000 for lot 23 (Sold by Ubuninzi Ngunis and bought by AZ Tyali -Tshezi Nguni Stud)
Open Heifers sold at an average price of R9,760 andd highest price of R11,000
Pregnant Heifers averaged R12,608 – Highest price was R17,000
Bulls averaged R16,000 and top price of R20,000 was paid for lot 4 – PH08 0109 – Seller Mr PM Hobbs (Ntsikizi Nguni) and buyer G Ferreira (Heroncliff Ngunis)
The commercial animals did very well
3 in 1 averaged R13,070
Pregnant cows R10,600
Pregnant Heifers R10,380 – top price of R12,800
Open heifers R8700
The oxen fetched R10,501 average.
The auction was conducted by Sheard Auctioneers and Ian Sheard was the auctioneer.
